IT (information technology) Manager

 
Part-Time/ Full-Time, Temporary or Permanent Position (to be discussed with candidate)
 
Potential Christian Academy is looking for a seasoned IT professional to help run the school’s IT department.
The IT Manager should be able to perform the following responsibilities of this position as follows:
 
  • Set-up, configure, and install new computers, including iPads for students and teachers
  • Be knowledgeable about Apple products and applications, including Apple School Manager
  • Understand MDM (mobile device management) and their role in the school
  • Have experience with video editing software
  • Provide IT professional development for teachers and staff, especially with Apple products (Pages, Keynote, Clips, iMovie, etc)
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues
  • Maintain network security to protect against viruses, hackers, and other damage
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of electronic records
  • Serve as resource to staff in answering questions and assisting in effective utilization of school-wide technology
  • Research solutions to technology problems
  • Assist in the planning, development, maintenance, and operation of school computers, as well as related hardware and software
  • Work with administration and finance to purchase and acquire new technology and equipment as needed
  • Maintain inventory of school technology and equipment
  • Work collaboratively with Potential Church’s IT department to provide better service to the school
  • Maintain records on the configuration, installation, warranty, licenses, and allocation of computer software, hardware, and/or network systems
  • Assist school staffs and students in the appropriate and effective use of computer systems and software
  • Research technology grants for the school

 

PHYSICAL EDUCATION (PE) TEACHER

 

Part-time, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM 
 
Please note: Position Starting on May 4, 2020
 
We have an opening for the 2019-2020 school year for an enthusiastic Christian PE teacher who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of students. This PE teacher will help students reach their God potential, by teaching them the fundamentals of physical education, exercise, sports leadership and training, and nutrition.
 
Must be a certified teacher. 

elementary teacherS

 

Full-time
 
As we continue to expand, we have openings for the 2020-2021 school year for enthusiastic Christian elementary teachers who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of students. Prior experience teaching elementary school is preferred. Teachers will plan, implement, and carry out effective lessons that will help students reach their God potential. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Design and follow a complete lesson plan.
  • Plan instructional programs for the class in keeping with the school’s curriculum.
  • Use a variety of multi-sensory activities and instructional manipulatives to motivate and stimulate children’s growth and God-given talents.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide information when necessary.
  • Assess students’ performance to ensure mastery of age-appropriate skills.
  • Monitor children’s interactions, and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
  • Cooperate with administration and staff.
Requirements:
 
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education or be certified in elementary education.
  • Possess an ACSI or state-issued certification in elementary education.
  • At least one year of full-time teaching experience at the elementary level.
  • Proficient knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices.
  • Creative teaching abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

PRESCHOOL TEACHER 

Full-time
 
We have an opening for the 2020-2021 school year for an enthusiastic Christian preschool teacher who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of young children. Must be preschool certified. Prior experience teaching preschool is preferred. CDA is a plus!  
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Provide a safe, clean, and positive stimulating classroom.
  • Be punctual each morning.
  • Prepare material and classrooms for daily class activities.
  • Evaluate students on a regular basis. Prepare reports on students as required by administration.
  • Provide weekly lesson plans to preschool director.
  • Attend professional meetings, teacher trainings, workshops, and school events.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with parents of students.  Partner with each parent to help each student to reach his/her God potential.
  • Display a Christ-like attitude at all times.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and develop constructive, cooperative relationships.

AFTERCARE TEACHER 

 
Part-time, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM
 
 
We have an opening for the 2019-2020 school year for an enthusiastic Christian Aftercare Teacher who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of students. Prior experience teaching aftercare is preferred. The teacher will plan, implement, and carry out effective activities that will help students reach their God potential. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Maintaining a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Facilitate homework assistance and provide a quiet environment during homework time.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide information when necessary.
  • Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
  • Cooperate with administration and staff.
Requirements:
 
 
  • High school degree or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Higher degrees are a plus.
  • Creative teaching abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Model appropriate and professional behavior at all time.
  • Maintains accurate records of student attendance and departures
  • Writes incident reports and informs Aftercare supervisor of any incidents that require attention.
  • Maintains workspace by cleaning up, organizing, and respecting shared space.

     


SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Approved substitute teachers will be kept on file and called on an as-needed basis. Those who qualify will also be required to go through a fingerprinting process.
