school principal, Pensacola cAMPUS

Fulltime,7:30 AM - 3:30 PM 

We have an opening for the 2023-2024 school year for an experienced Christian SCHOOL PRINCIPAL who will work at our Pensacola, Florida campus.

General Description:

The PRINCIPAL will serve as the chief administrator of Potential Christian Academy (PCA) Pensacola Campus and is charged with the responsibility of expanding the preschool to include an elementary school. 

PCA is a ministry of Potential Church and operates under the leadership of its lead pastor and PCA’s head of school (located in Cooper City, Florida). The elementary school is scheduled to open in the fall of 2023. The principal will exercise educational and spiritual leadership in all areas impacting the school so that its students will have an environment leading them toward their God potential.

Principal's Duties:

General Leadership
Assume responsible leadership for expanding the existing preschool to include an elementary school with a strong Christian foundation and sound academics.
Spiritual Leadership
Develop, implement, and demonstrate by example and attitude the integration of a Christian worldview in all aspects of the Academy.
Instructional Leadership
Serve as instructional leader for the school by supervising and developing faculty and staff.
Managerial Leadership
Organize, motivate, and manage staff, ensuring continued success of effective school procedures, goals, and improvements.
Personnel Administration
Recruit, recommend, establish, administer, communicate, and resolve issues concerning the hiring and evaluating of all personnel.
Financial Administration
Manage expenses, plan the annual budget, and assist in fundraising efforts.
Public Relations
Maintain, support, and foster parent, school, and community relationships.


Qualifications:

• Devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
• Proven personal, academic, moral, spiritual, and leadership qualities.
• Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from an accredited college or university or equivalent certification.
• Florida/ACSI Administrative certification, or the ability to obtain ACSI certification within eighteen (18) months.
 


 

PRESCHOOL TEACHER 

 

We have an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for an enthusiastic Christian preschool teacher who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of young children. Must be preschool certified. Prior experience teaching preschool is preferred. CDA is a plus!  

Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe, clean, and positive stimulating classroom.
• Be punctual each morning.
• Prepare material and classrooms for daily class activities.
• Evaluate students on a regular basis. Prepare reports on students as required by administration.
• Provide weekly lesson plans to preschool director.
• Attend professional meetings, teacher trainings, workshops, and school events.
• Communicate on a regular basis with parents of students.  Partner with each parent to help each student to reach his/her God potential.
• Display a Christ-like attitude at all times.
• Collaborate with other teachers and develop constructive, cooperative relationships.

Requirements:

• Must be preschool certified. Prior experience teaching preschool is preferred. CDA is a plus!
• At least one year of full-time teaching experience.
• Proficient knowledge of child development and latest education theories and practices.
• Creative teaching abilities.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
 


aftercare teacher

Part-time, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM

We have an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for an enthusiastic Christian Aftercare Teacher who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of students. Prior experience teaching aftercare is preferred. The teacher will plan, implement, and carry out effective activities that will help students reach their God potential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning and exploration.
• Facilitate homework assistance and provide a quiet environment during homework time.
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide information when necessary.
• Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
• Cooperate with administration and staff.
 

Requirements:

• High school degree or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Higher degrees are a plus.
• Creative teaching abilities.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Model appropriate and professional behavior at all time.
• Maintains accurate records of student attendance and departures
• Writes incident reports and informs Aftercare supervisor of any incidents that require attention.
• Maintains workspace by cleaning up, organizing, and respecting shared space.


 

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

PCA is always looking for qualified SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. All applicants must go through a fingerprinting process and be approved before being called to work. Substitute teacher information will be kept on file. The school will call on an as-needed basis
