AFTERSCHOOL CARE TEACHER

Part-time, 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM

We have an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for an enthusiastic Christian Afterschool Care Teacher who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of students. Prior experience teaching aftercare is preferred. The teacher will plan, implement, and carry out effective activities that will help students reach their God potential.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning and exploration.
• Facilitate homework assistance and provide a quiet environment during homework time.
• Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide information when necessary.
• Monitor children’s interactions and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
• Cooperate with administration and staff.
 

Requirements:

• High school degree or GED required. Must be at least 18 years old. Higher degrees are a plus.
• Creative teaching abilities.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Model appropriate and professional behavior at all time.
• Maintains accurate records of student attendance and departures
• Writes incident reports and informs Aftercare supervisor of any incidents that require attention.
• Maintains workspace by cleaning up, organizing, and respecting shared space.


 

PRESCHOOL TEACHER 

 

Full-time

We have an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for an enthusiastic Christian PRESCHOOL TEACHER who will foster and facilitate the spiritual, academic, physical, and social development of young children. Must be preschool certified. Prior experience teaching preschool is preferred. CDA is a plus!  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a safe, clean, and positive stimulating classroom.
  • Be punctual each morning.
  • Prepare materials and classrooms for daily class activities.
  • Evaluate students on a regular basis. Prepare reports on students as required by administration.
  • Provide weekly lesson plans to the preschool director.
  • Attend professional meetings, teacher trainings, workshops, and school events.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with parents of students.  Partner with each parent to help each student to reach his/her God potential.
  • Display a Christ-like attitude at all times.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and develop constructive, cooperative relationships.

 

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER ASSISTANT

 

Full Time 

PCA has an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for a passionate Christian ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHER ASSISTANT. 

Responsibilities:

  • Help design and follow a complete lesson plan.
  • Assist the teacher with day-to-day activities and responsibilities.
  • Use a variety of multi-sensory activities and instructional manipulatives to motivate and stimulate children’s growth and God-given talents.
  • Work with children in small groups to increase math and reading knowledge and application.
  • Monitor children’s interactions, and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
  • Cooperate with administration and staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, related field or be certified in elementary education.
  • Possess an ACSI or state-issued certificate in elementary education.
  • At least one year of full-time teaching or assistant experience at the elementary level.
  • Proficient knowledge of child development and the latest educational theories and practices.
  • Creative teaching abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

 

ELEMENTARY/Middle SCHOOL MUSIC TEACHER  

Full Time 

PCA has an opening for the 2022-2023 school year for an ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER who has experience teaching music and producing Broadway-style musical performances. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and follow a complete lesson plan.
  • Plan instructional programs for the class in keeping with the school’s curriculum.
  • Use a variety of multi-sensory activities and instructional manipulatives to motivate and stimulate children’s growth and God-given talents in music.
  • Lead weekly chapels for preschool - middle school.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with parents and provide information when necessary.
  • Assess students’ performance to ensure they are mastering age-appropriate skills.
  • Monitor children’s interactions, and nurture cooperation, learning, and sharing.
  • Cooperate with administration and staff.

Requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in music education or be certified in music education.
  • Possess an ACSI or state-issued certificate in music education.
  • At least one year of full-time teaching experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of child development and the latest educational theories and practices.
  • Creative teaching abilities.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Must be a member of Potential Church to be considered for this position.

 

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

PCA is always looking for qualified SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS. All applicants must go through a fingerprinting process and be approved before being called to work. Substitute teacher information will be kept on file. The school will call on an as-needed basis
